SQLBackupAndFTP Database Backup Configuration

SQLBackupAndFTP is a backup solution for SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases. The software performs full, differential, and transaction log backups, compresses and encrypts backup files, and stores them on network locations, FTP servers, or cloud storage services.

Database Connection Setup

Navigate to the Connect to Database Server settings
Click on the settings wheel icon
Configure the connection parameters:

Setting	Value
Server Type	MySQL Server (TCP/IP)
Server Name	127.0.0.1
User Name	root
Password	(leave blank unless password is set)

Click Test Connection to verify successful connection
Select target databases and click Save & Close

Navigate to the Store backups in selected destinations section
Click the green + button to add a storage location
Select your preferred storage method (Google Drive recommended)

Store database backups on external storage services rather than local VPS storage. This provides better data protection and disaster recovery capabilities.

Automated Backup Scheduling

Schedule Configuration

Go to the Schedule backups tab
Configure backup frequency and timing parameters
Run a test backup to verify functionality
Confirm the backup file appears in your selected storage destination

Verification Steps

Monitor the initial backup process to ensure:

Backup completes successfully
Files are delivered to the configured storage location
Email notifications function properly (if configured)
